Matthew Vernhout is the Principal Email Advisor at Email Industries, with over 20 years of experience in the field. A computer science graduate from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, he also holds a CIPP/C designation in privacy and data protection from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Matthew founded the Canadian Email Summit and EmailKarma and is the Communications Chair for the Authindicators Working Group. In his role at Email Industries, he advises clients on email delivery challenges and marketing strategies. He is also involved with organisations like CAUCE, the ANA's Email Experience Council, and M3AAWG. Recognised for his contributions to the industry, Matthew was named the EEC Thought Leader of the Year in 2019 and one of Canada’s Top 50 Marketing Bloggers in 2010. He co-authored 'A Complete Guide to e-Marketing under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation' and has contributed to several industry publications.
